Washington Properties Inc. was formed by Jeff Gumbiner in 1997 to acquire, develop and manage commercial real estate in the Chicago Metropolitan area. Jeff Gumbiner has over 25 years of real estate development, asset management and financing experience. Washington Properties Inc. follows a value-added approach to real estate investment and actively manages its investments to maximize returns with reasonable risk. Local market knowledge and development of long term relationships with brokers, tenants and investors are key elements of Washington Properties’ strategy.
Prior to forming Washington Properties, Jeff Gumbiner was Vice President and Portfolio Manager with Kemper Corporation both in Chicago and San Francisco, actively managing a $1.6 billion commercial real estate portfolio which included over 10 million square feet of operating properties and 40,000 acres of land.
Jeff Gumbiner was previously a development project manager in the office and industrial division of Sutter Hill Limited, a real estate development company in Palo Alto, California. He actively participated in the development, leasing, construction and management of over 800,000 square feet of industrial properties. He began his career in banking in 1976 with Union Bank and was a construction lending officer at Wells Fargo Bank in San Francisco between 1979 and 1981. Jeff Gumbiner received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1973 and an MBA in finance and accounting from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in 1976.
